Food was amazing, great balance of hot, sour, savory. Lamb shashlik needed no spices, it was so good. Bread, salads, rice - everything was perfect. I tried a dessert sampler and tea, the chocolate mousse was heavenly good.

Such an amazing food experience!! Definitely a more elevated cuisine and highly recommended to visit with friends or a date. The Kurdish coffee was amazing, so creamy, not bitter, and so delicious that I wanted seconds. We tried 8 dishes and all were phenomenal with different flavor profiles. The halloumi cheese, eggplant stew, the shank, etc were all very filling and yum.

Exceeded my expectations. I didn’t know what to expect from Kurdish food - everything from the Gundis Kurdish Kitchen came fresh and tasty. I was pleasantly surprised that the menu in the restaurant, unlike what is currently available online, identified vegan vs. vegetarian with separate designations. As a vegan, that made it a lot easier for me to order. Their bread is vegan. I ordered the tirsik with rice, and thought it was healthy and flavorful. The server was attentive, friendly and prompt.

This is our go-to breakfast place. We almost always get the breakfast for two and we always leave full but not in the heavy, over-eaten way. The tea is amazing, the service is excellent. The staff is always attentive - once I dropped my napkin and they noticed before I did and brought me a new one! Seriously, amazing restaurant!

Believe me, if I’m taking the time to post a review and photos, it’s actually worth it—because we go out to eat frequently, but a lazy person like me never bothers to post reviews (which I know isn’t good lol). My husband and I went there last week on a lunch date, and we both fell in love with it. The decor, the ambiance, the service, and obviously the food were all beyond amazing. It's a very nice place for a cute, intimate date and to try some great food. It was our first time trying Kurdish food, and we loved all of it. The shank and stuffed chicken breast were wow! The eggplant stew with beef was good too. We tried the appetizer sampler and immediately regretted not trying it earlier—lol. It was an amazing experience. Please go there if you haven’t already!

The eggplant and lamb stew was absolutely amazing. The lamb was perfectly cooked, tender and tasty, slightly pink in the middle and slightly charred on the outside. The grilled vegetables were delicious and the eggplant base was very yummy. Beautifully presented too. Quite impressed.

Gunsis Kurdish Kitchen holds the distinction of being the city’s first and only Kurdish restaurant. The ambiance is both simple and sleek, featuring weathered wood floors, exposed brick walls, and pendant lighting. The menu showcases a variety of Kurdish classics, reflecting influences from Turkish, Middle Eastern, and Indian cuisines. Eggs scrambled with roasted peppers, onions, and tomatoes pair well with golden cups of Kurdish coffee and bottomless tea. Zaza Chicken is a must try! With its creamy sauce packed with rich and aromatic flavors, it perfectly captures the essence of Kurdish cuisine.
